Michael Bay Attacked By Man With Air Condition On 'Transformers 4' Set

Transformers 4 director Michael Bay was attacked Thursday (Oct. 17) on the set of his upcoming action-adventure film, which is currently filming in Hong Kong, police said.

According to a Hong Kong police spokeswoman, two brothers surnamed Mak and a third individual approached Bay and demanded 100,000 Hong Kong dollars ($13,000) for the production to commence by their shop. When Bay refused to fork over the money, they assaulted him, she said. The brothers also allegedly assaulted three police officers who were called to the set.

"Contrary to several erroneous news reports, Bay did not get hurt in a fight on his set. The production company did have a rather bizarre encounter with a man (allegedly under the influence of a narcotic substance) who was wielding an air conditioning unit as the weapon of choice."

EMPIRE Online sources note that one of the assailants also accosted several other crew members, and swung the "cumbersome appliance" directly at Bay's head. No stranger to danger, Bay ducked the attempt and then wrested the air conditioner away from his attacker, which prevented anyone from being seriously harmed. Once that happened, the security team immediately stepped in and subdued the assault. No one on the cast or crew was injured and the production immediately resumed filming without further incident.

Filming is currently going on now in Hong Kong and it looks like there are no lasting effects.

Transformers: Age Of Extinction, which stars Kelsey Grammer and Mark Wahlberg, hits theaters on July 10, 2014.

The Internet Reacts To ‘Cats’ Trailer Feat. Jennifer Hudson, Idris Elba And More

The film adaptation of the Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cats musical will soon hit the big screen, but the new trailer isn't getting the best internet reviews. The two-minute sneak peek released Thursday (July 18), gives a first look at the cast, which includes Jennifer Hudson, Jason Derulo, Idris Elba, Taylor Swift, James Corden and Ian McKellen, decked out as felines.

Elba stars as the mysterious Macavity and Hudson portrays Grizabella the Glamour Cat who sings “Memory,” one of the musical’s most popular numbers. Derulo takes on Rum Tum Tugger, Corden plays Bustopher Jones, Swift is Bombalurina, and McKellen is Gus the Theater Cat. The all-star cast also features Dame Judi Dench as Old Deuteronomy.

Many of the bad Twitter reviews were due to the CGI technology making for an awkward final product that left some utterly confused, and maybe even terrified.

Spike Lee's 'She's Gotta Have It' Won't Return To Netflix For Season Three

Nola Darling and the She's Gotta Have It cast will not return to Netflix for season three, according to Entertainment Weekly. Director Spike Lee revisited his 1986 feature film to create the series adaption in 2017.

Starring DeWanda Wise (Nola Darling), her character considers herself a free-spirited artist who weaves her intimate relationships and experiences, all while going toe-to-toe with the gentrification of her Brooklyn community.

The sudden cancellation arrived less than two months after season two aired earlier this summer. "While this is our last season, we're very proud that it will be on our service for years to come," Netflix's Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos told The Hollywood Reporter in a statement on Wednesday (July 17).

The nineteen-episode series also starred Anthony Ramos, Ifenesh Hadera, Cleo Anthony, Lyriq Bent, Margot Bingham, Chyna Layne, and Fat Joe. Musical selections featured on the show included Stevie Wonder, Prince, Marvin Gaye, Madonna, Erykah Badu, and Frank Ocean.

Lee is currently working on an upcoming film for Netflix titled Da 5 Bloods. The war drama tells the story of Vietnam veterans with appearances from Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Isiah Whitlock Jr. (BlacKkKlansman), Delroy Lindo (The Good Fight), and Norm Lewis (Les Misérables).

Cardi B, Jennifer Lopez, Lizzo, Keke Palmer And More Star in 'Hustlers' Trailer

On Wednesday (July 17), the trailer for the star-studded Hustlers film debuted, highlighting appearances from Jennifer Lopez, Keke Palmer, Constance Wu, Lizzo, and Cardi B.

Complex reports that Lorene Scafaria's drama is based on The Cut's article "The Hustlers at Scores" by Jessica Pressler, who describes the story as "a modern Robin Hood story for you: a few strippers who stole from (mostly) rich, (usually) disgusting, (in their minds) pathetic men and gave to, well, themselves."

Cardi B will grace the box office for the first time, and writer/director Scafaria was determined to cast the "Money" artist in the feature film but it was not an easy task. Scafaria previously told Vulture, "I chased Cardi for two years," and admitted that the connection happened through a direct message. "I got back a 'We know, we'll get back to you,'" she said. "I didn't know if I was talking to her or somebody else."

Watch the Hustlers trailer above, that has already racked up 95,000 views on YouTube.
