YouTube To Launch Spotify Rival In December?

Music lovers, say goodbye to annoying adverts. There is speculation that YouTube has plans to announce the launch of their new ad-free music video service at the upcoming YouTube Music Awards.

According to Billboard, the new service will provide unlimited access to music videos and the capacity to store videos offline, so that they are accessible on mobile devices.

There will be a free component and a premium paid tier to the service, both offering on-demand access to full tracks available across all platforms. The premium tier will allow YouTube more “flexibility” to sell music with “fewer restrictions” and it can also be linked to other Google products. Reports state the service will be made live as soon as December.

The YouTube Music Awards is set to kick off on Nov. 3 at New York’s Pier 36 with performances from Eminem, Lady Gaga, M.I.A. and Tyler, The Creator.
