8 Lessons We Shouldn't Pick Up From Reality Shows
As entertaining as it may be to tune into the low-down weekly drama of reality TV, more and more reality dramas are showing what NOT to do and how NOT to act in our real lives. Take note of the lessons you shouldn't be picking up when watching corrupted reality TV.
1. That Big Butt Women Rule The World
Outside of your television screen lies the real world. A big booty doesn't dub you the Queen B, and fortunately doesn't hold as much power as you witness on shows like Love and Hip Hop and The Real Housewives. A Big Butt doesn't make the world go' round.
2. ALL Men Are Dirt Bags and Ruthless Cheaters
Not all men will treat you like Stevie J, and dismiss you like Peter Guns. Please don’t start questioning the guy you’re with because he’s slightly mimicking familiar tendencies.
3. Dating Rich Men Is Your Escape From Real World Issues
As much as we desire the plush lifestyle of luxury cars, laxed living, and million dollar homes, finding a rich guy won't solve all of your problems.
5. 4. Branding Is ONLY for starting clothing, makeup or hair lines
Branding yourself is a key tool to success, but do you know what you’ll do once you attain the platform and spotlight? Be led by your passion and not always a quick paycheck. The clothing, makeup and hair care industries don’t always have to be your “go to” venture.
5. That You Can Say And Do Whatever You Want Without Real Consequences
The biggest reality stars have made a name for themselves using and abusing the first amendment. Try inheriting that same will to speak and act freely in work environments or even within your personal relationships and see where that gets you.
6. All Women Are Your Competition And Enemy
The Real World isn’t an endless episode of Bad Girls Club. And not every woman is out to get you. In fact, you can develop the most genuine resourceful relationships with other females.
7. The Real Definition of "Keeping It Real" Means Fighting And Gossiping
To get a point across doesn't mean situations have to heighten to immaturity. Not everyone needs to understand or repsect your version of "honesty."
8. It's Okay To Share Your Man
Despite what one too many reality shows may be depicting, sharing your man is NOT okay. "Open" relationships are danger zones that you should avoid taking out of respect for yourself and relationship. There should be no accepting or tolerating of any side chicks; hell, there shouldn't even be a discussing regarding them. Ladies, know your worth!
