'Buffy' Scribe Drew Goddard To Write 'Daredevil' For Netflix
After word broke that Disney and Marvel teamed up with Netflix to bring a few of their most notable characters to the small screen, it seems that they have an acclaimed writer to bring the Daredevil series to life.
Comic fans excited about the addition of Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Jessica Jones to their Netflix queues can also be elated about the inclusion of Drew Goddard (Cabin In The Woods).
Pitched as The Man Without Fear, the original program will have a 13-episode run which will feature the four superheroes building up to an event premiering them as The Defenders. Goodard, an experience TV scribe, has worked with Joss Whedon in the past on Angel and Buffy before moving into the Abrams-verse for Alias, Lost, and Cloverfield.
Goddard is a strong choice for Daredevil because he's already explained to Collider his love and interest in the character. "If we could find the right project, I would love to do it. You're talking to a guy who had quotes from Daredevil painted on his walls growing up... Fox has most of the stuff that was on my walls as a kid," he said. "Conversations always happen, but until anything's official, who knows?"
As it looks like Drew Goddard is getting his wish, it seems like this move from Disney / Marvel is a no-brainer, as he is one of Joss Whedon's most trusted collaborators.
You can expect all of this to kick off in 2015.
