New Music: Angel Haze – ‘Summertime Sadness’

Angel Haze is no stranger to the cover song. In the past month she has put her own twist on Drake’s “Worst Behavior,” Kanye West’s “Black Skinhead,” Jay-Z’s “Tom Ford,” A$AP Ferg’s “Shabba,” Macklemore’s “Same Love” and Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball.” The covers have been part of her ’30 Gold’ series, where Haze has been dropping new music in the lead up to her debut album Dirty Gold, the latter which has no official release date yet.

For her latest cover, Haze tackles Lana Del Rey’s sleepy dance track “Summertime Sadness.” The Detroit MC ditches her usual delivery for some bonafide singing and doesn’t steer too far away from Del Rey’s aesthetic. Listen below.
