Porsha Stewart Talks Life After Divorce, Shares Beauty Secrets and Explains Why She’s Ready to Date Outside Her Race

Porsha Stewart

Wendy Williams recently said that you were spoiled. What are your thoughts on that?

Yeah, I am. There is nothing wrong with being spoiled. I’m also humble and I spoil the people who are around me. She called me spoiled because of my mom gave me her room. My mom and I have a wonderful relationship. I am blessed to have my mom and if she wants to give me her room and make sure that I’m comfortable, that’s her way.

But eventually you’ll move out?

You gotta keep watching the show!

Who exactly is Porsha 5.0 ?

Porsha 5.0 is fun-loving. I am multi-faceted. I’m free-spirited. I am outspoken and very straightforward. I just no filter this season. They started filming me a month before everybody else because of my situation and I didn’t put on or do anything extra for the cameras. I didn’t even act like they were around.

Let’s talk about your new hair line, Go Naked.  What can we expect from it? Why is it amazing?

Women should definitely get down with the Naked hair movement because I hand selected the hair. I have been researching the hair unofficially for at least ten years.  I tried different vendors and then for the past two years I knew I wanted to start a hairline so I would test different vendors. I had two that it came down to and the one that I ended up selecting, and it is just wonderful. The hair is one hundred percent human hair. All the cuticles are intact which is very, very important because that means that it accepts dye very, very well. Also, after you dye the hair the texture and the integrity of the hair is still intact. Also, the cuticles are all in the same direction, which is a good thing. I’ve given the hair to a lot of hairstylists and every single one of them the biggest thing they love about the hair is the weft. It’s flexible; it’s easy if you’re trying to sew it in so they love that. The price point is very affordable, it’s only $72 for a bundle.

Tell us about the music project you have coming up.

I’m working on a song right now called “Perfectly Worthless”. I’m working with a producer named Pierre. I’ll be releasing that single within the next couple of months.

The song is all about passion and pain. I feel like this song is going to be a woman’s anthem for her to gather herself up and move on and realize who she is and what she’s worth. I went into the studio at a very emotional point in my life and I’m very proud of that. I also have a teeth whitening line. It’s not out yet, but it will be soon.

Wow! Why teeth whitening?

I was bullied in junior and high school—people talked about me having big teeth for years, and now that I’m an adult I’ve grown into my teeth. I became obsessed with teeth whitening, so I actually tried different products and I landed on one that I loved. It’s perfect!

How do you find time to do all this?

Well, I have time now. Running a household was a lot. People think that housewives don’t have anything to do. I was juggling my husband, my stepson, and make sure the house was maintained, make sure I was maintained, that was a lot. So now, I’m putting all my time and energy into things that I want to do.

Is being a housewife something you enjoyed doing? Or was it a chore?

To be honest with you, the divorce has been bittersweet. It’s sweet because I got my voice back and I’ve gotten back to Porsha. But it’s bitter because I love to take care of people—cooking and cleaning and all that. It felt good for me to cook a meal and have you sit down and eat it. I love that.

Which lady on the Real Housewives do you relate to the most?

I really relate to a couple people—but especially Kandi. I just love and adore her. I’m in her upcoming play ‘A mother’s love’ which is based loosely on her relationship with Todd and then my character is loosely based around my relationship with my ex. Kandi’s from Atlanta, born and raised and she and I just have that down south personality. We’re laid back, down to earth, and we know how to just be real. Also, Nene is just super cool and supportive.
