Don Cheadle To Join Marvel's 'Avengers: Age Of Ultron' Cast
It looks like Joss Whedon decided that he cannot fool audiences twice. It is believed that Don Cheadle's Col. James 'Rhodey' Rhodes, also known as War Machine, will play a role in Whedon's 2015 sequel Avengers: Age of Ultron.
It's only fair and fitting that Don Cheadle receives his own shot at stardom in the action-adventure sequel. HitFlix is confirming a Bleeding Cool report that the acclaimed actor is on board for Age of Ultron. Joss Whedon is returning as the principle writer and director for this one, which is soon to begin production early in the New Year in the United Kingdom.
The plot finds Robert Downey Jr's Tony Stark rejoining the rest of Earth's Mightiest Heroes (including Mark Ruffalo's Hulk, Chris Evans' Captain America, Chris Hemsworth's Thor and, most likely, Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow and Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye) facing off against rogue automaton Ultron (James Spader).
For those who don't follow the comics or the big picture films, Rhodes is Stark's best friend and closest ally. Cheadle as War Machine / Iron Patriot seems like a great fit for the sequel, but where he will end up in a film which will introduce two new characters (Aaron Taylor-Johnson's Quicksilver and Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch) still remains to be seen.
Avengers: Age of Ultron will assemble on our big screens on May 1, 2015.
