Game, Miguel Weigh In On Kendrick Lamar’s Grammy Nominations


The major label debut of Top Dawg prodigy Kendrick Lamar received the seal of approval from the Academy following his seven Grammy nominations announced during last week’s telecast. Not only was good kid, m.a.a.d. city a more than impressive introduction to the Compton native in the mainstream, it has since gone platinum.

After getting praises from Nas to 50 Cent, K. Dot is still getting showered with compliments from fellow artists like “How Many Drinks?” collaborator Miguel and fellow Cali resident, The Game.

“It’s just good to see him getting his just do. He deserves everything he’s getting,” the “Celebration” rapper told MTV News. “Congrats to Kendrick for everything, it’s beautiful. And welcome to the Million Dollar Club.”

Miguel, who is currently traveling around the country as a performer on Drake’s “Would You Like A Tour?”, said Kendrick’s authenticity is part of what shot him up to fame. “He really let people get to know him through his music and that’s why he’s winning.”
