Kanye West Calls Out Nike For 'Extortion' In Miami
Kanye West's grievances with Nike have been more than blatant during his string of
rants motivational speeches on his Yeezus tour. The Chicago creative recently descended on Miami's American Airlines Arena this past Friday (Nov. 29) and called out the athletic company for extorting him.
“How many of you are waiting for the red Yeezies?," he asked, according to PageSix. "You know what they told my homey who owned the store up there? They said, ‘If you want the Yeezies, you’ve got to take 10 other shoes from Nike.’ That’s called extortion!”
The heat comes fresh off his newly inked deal with adidas, that reportedly cost $10 million with additional royalties for each pair of Yeezys that's sold.
He echoed a similar sentiment during his stop at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn last week. "...I talked to my man down in Miami that runs the store and they said Nike was pressuring them saying if you want the Red Octobers you have to take all these trash-ass shoes," West told the crowd. "Nike was pressuring them trying to leverage off some shit that I made.”
No word on when the Air Yeezy 2 kicks will drop.
