Kanye West Talks Being An Art Student, Presents Piece At Art Basel In Miami

The stars aligned for the annual Art Basel in Miami as Kanye West was an active participant in this year’s activities. Taking a small break from his Yeezus tour, the rapper/ design stan collaborated with Vanessa Beecroft, known for her nude models at the Guggenheim Museum, for the “Affordable Care” group show sponsored by Flaunt magazine. He was also a panelist during Surface magazine’s “Design Dialogue” series with architect Jacques Herzog, where he talked about being an art school drop-out, according to NBC Miami.

“I actually went to school for art, and sometimes I actually forget that, except for when I do tour and I look back at the stage and I say wait a second, I forgot, like this is the whole kind of trick that I pulled on everyone to make them think that I was a rapper or a musician or a celebrity when the entire time it’s all been a giant art project, or life has been like an art project in some way,” said ‘Ye, who was also joined by fiancee Kim. Other folks spotted out on the town included Diddy and Pharrell. Art Basel will run from Dec. 5 – 8 in Basel, Miami Beach.
