Vixen Review: Why 'Lips' is The Perfect Must-Do For a Girls Night Out
Everyone needs a girls night out to take your mind off the stress of everyday issues. So when you finally get a night out with your gal pals it's important that you choose an activity that's fun, alcohol-induced, and interactive. For my close friends and I planning a night out is a job in itself. We have to sync our dates insuring that everyone is in town and available, make sure it's an out-of-the-ordinary activity, and collectively agree on the nights festivities.
Which is why Lips proved to be the best choice for our girls night. The self-titled BEST Drag Queen Show in New York lived up to it's name and more. If you're into new and interesting festivities, you need to add this dinner and a show on your must-see calendar. We've broke down the pros and cons of this restaurant and bar so you know what you're getting yourself into and why it's worth the experience.

This is a major pro if you don't like waiting in lines. The reservations are based on the showtimes which vary depending on the day. However, if you are looking for a spare of the moment dining experience this may not be the best bet. But trust us, a night out with Lips is worth the pre-planning.
Reservation isn't required in small groups but it's highly recommended.
The service is a major pro. Our waitress was hilarious and witty with lots of personality. What's also great is the waitresses are also apart of the show but they are attentive through out the night (when they aren't performing).
We went to the "Dirty Show" and we were throughly entertained from beginning to end. It's very vulgar, so if you're not for it, stay at home. Overall each performer was over the top and committed to their song. The con was that it was short—there were only five actual acts.
It's fun to be apart of the on-stage congo birthday line or the bride-to-be celebration, but only if you're prepared to pay. It's a much different and a huge upgrade from the regular waitress birthday seating situation, but it comes with a pricey charge.
Speaking of price, if you're expecting a budget friendly night out, you've come to the wrong place. Before you even eat there's a seating charge which you can't avoid. The drinks are great, but not worth the price for the buzz you don't feel. The good news is, the show makes you forget your ridiculous bill.
From beginning to the end the waitress and show women are attentive to the audience. They are big on crowd participation. Whether you're celebrating a birthday, bachelorette party, or just want to join the on-stage festivities, there a chance for you to get your spotlight during the performance.
The atmosphere is gorgeous. It gets you in the mood for the show you're about to see. The stage is over the top, the seating areas are nice, and the costumes are big and extravagant.
The food price isn't bad but the selection is slim. I recommend the appetizer sampler. The choices are good and if you're indecisive as much as I am, it's a good pick of food choices.
The alcohol names are more tasty then the actual drinks. Drag-o-rita is a better selection and buzz than the only slushy drink they offer. The only thing better then the drink names are the shots because they come with a souvenir shot glass.
