Beyonce And Madonna To Perform At The 2014 Grammys?

Beyonce released her surprise self-titled LP in December. That means the album didn’t make the cut-off date for the 2014 Grammy nominations. The eligibility year for the 56th Annual Grammy Awards is Oct. 1, 2012, to Sept. 30, 2013, but that isn’t stopping King Bey from stealing the show this year.

The Los Angeles Times reports that Beyonce is expected to take to the stage at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards, being held Jan. 26 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. It will mark the first televised performance since she released Beyonce.

But the Grammys are trying to keep the whole thing a secret, just like Bey’s album. The show’s producer Ken Ehrlich would not confirm Beyonce’s cameo, but he didn’t deny it either. “I love working with [Beyoncé],” Ehrlich said. “She’s incredible. She is so into what it is that she does and making sure that everybody who sees her walks away saying, ‘wow.’ Should she be on the show this year? I would think that the potential is there for that kind of moment.”

Beyonce has 17 Grammys under her belt. She is only up for one gramophone this year — for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration with husband Jay Z for his Magna Carta Holy Grail track “Part II (On the Run).”

Rumors that Madonna might also make a cameo at the Grammys are also swirling. Confirmed Grammy performers, according to the LA Times, include Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr; Daft Punk with Nile Rodgers, Pharrell Williams and Stevie Wonder; Kendrick Lamar with Imagine Dragons; Lorde; Katy Perry; Pink and Fun’s Nate Ruess; Robin Thicke and Chicago; Macklemore & Ryan Lewis; Kacey Musgraves; John Legend; Taylor Swift; Keith Urban and Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson and Blake Shelton.

The Grammys air Sunday, Jan. 26 at 8PM EST on CBS.
