Beyonce Rocks Steady At No. 1 On Billboard Chart For Third Week
Beyoncé’s self-titled visual album continues to rock steady in the top spot for its third week on the Billboard 200 Chart,
King Bey’s three-week reign at number one has made it the longest run for any album since Justin Timberlake’s The 20/20 Experience release back in April. It is also the fastest selling and the first female album since Taylor Swift’s 2012 LP Red to spend three weeks on top.
To add more feathers in her cap, Beyoncé is the only album since Susan Boyle’s 2009 album I Dreamed A Dream to sell over 300,000 copies in each of its first three weeks. It has sold a total of 1.3 million copies in its first 17 days since its U.S. release on Dec. 13.
Blue Ivy’s momma is trailed by teen heartthrobs One Direction and Detroit rapper Eminem. The British boy band’s Midnight Memories are catching up with 142,000 sales this past week and Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP 2 rose from number six to the third spot with 122,000 copies sold.
