Quentin Tarantino Announces His Next Film, 'The Hateful Eight'
Winning awards for Django Unchained has given the critically acclaimed director the fuel to go in for another Western-themed flick.
Tarantino's latest movie title may have been leaked by the auteur himself on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
The film will reportedly be called The Hateful Eight and will be another Western-themed movie. Although plot and story details are yet to be released to the public, the overall thought is that Tarantino is referring John Sturges' 1960-genre classic The Magnificent Seven.
The belief is that the project will begin production this summer, and will reportedly have a part specifically written for Django Unchained Oscar winner, Christoph Waltz. Veteran casting director and fellow Django collaborator Victoria Thomas has also been brought on to help Tarantino fill in other roles.
Speaking directly with Jay Leno, Tarantino said, "I can't talk that much about it, but I will say one thing. I haven't told anyone about this publicly, but I will say the genre. It's a Western."
"It's not a Django sequel, but it is another Western, and the thing is I had so much fun doing Django and I love Westerns so much, that after I taught myself how to make one, it's like, 'OK, let me make another one now that I know what I'm doing'."
