Style Tips to Rock Pantone’s Color of the Year
With the new year comes a brand new color! Pantone’s recently released Color of the Year 2014 is “Radiant Orchid,” a fusion of fuschia and magenta with purple and pink undertones. We couldn’t agree more, and we’re searching our closets for pieces to incorporate with this gorgeous new floral-inspired hue. Here are some style tips we’ve compiled to keep you warm and on-trend for the brand new year.
1. Radiant Orchid Ombre Hair
For the brave trendsetter, try dipping your tips into this daring color. This color works for both deep brunettes and platinum blondes, though lighter brunettes may want to alter the color to suit their skin tone. Either way, it’s definitely a statement look.
2. Radiant Orchid Ankle Booties
Add a pop of color to a drab work outfit with day-appropriate booties. A short, chunky heel paired with a shift dress in black or even a striking blue will definitely turn heads!
3. Radiant Orchid Nail Art
Do a statement nail in this color or go for a full-on manicure with this shade. You can even swipe a bit of Radiant Orchid nail polish on the tips of your nails for a quirky spin on the classic French manicure, or prove your skills at nail art by painting tiny orchids on your ring fingernails!
4. Radiant Orchid Eyeliner
Try lining your eyes on the top or bottom with Radiant Orchid; if on the bottom, remember to shade darker on the outer lids and if on the top, layer the Radiant Orchid shade on top of your normal black or brown liner.

5. Radiant Orchid Lipstick
Follow Rihanna’s example and go bold with a bright statement lip! Keep the rest of your makeup muted to counter the crazy shade.
6. Radiant Orchid Accessories
TopShop’s chunky chain necklace is an easy piece to add to your necklace collection, and will definitely spruce up any outfit. Try it with a winter white sweater and dark wash jeans.
7. Radiant Orchid Hunter Boots
Beat the cold and snow with classic Hunter boots in your new favorite color! These will brighten up any rainy day.
