As we prepare for this Sunday's big game, we remember our most memorable national anthem performances. --Terry Carter
1. Whitney Houston
Arguably the best to ever sing the National Anthem, Whitney Houston's rendition was so good that it was released as a single, twice.

3. Carrie Underwood
The Country songbird kept it simplistic and elegant. Her vocals here proves why she was chosen as the winner of American Idol that year.
4. Marvin Gaye

5. Dixie Chicks
These country singing chicks came together to sing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl, blending in amazing pitch and perfect harmony.
6. Jordin Sparks
Fresh off of winning American Idol, Jordin Sparks went on to perform at the Super Bowl. The newcomer proved that she could hang with the vets, delivering one of the best vocal performances of the "Star Spangled Banner" we've ever heard.
7. Jimi Hendrix
Jimi Hendrix performed the "Star Spangled Banner" with his guitar. It gets no more badass than that.
8. Kelly Clarkson
Kelly brought her powerhouse vocals to the field when she sang the National anthem acapella-style at the NFL 2006 Thanksgiving Day performance.
