Look summertime fine year round with glowing skin. The look is natural, dewy, and fresh, with lots of highlight. To add some radiance to your look, use a luminescent foundation primer, replace your blush with a bronzer, and try a highlighter on the high planes of the face and the bridge of the nose. You can also mix an illuminator or small amount of loose shimmer powder with your foundation; apply with a duo fiber brush for an airbrushed finish.
Try: MAC’s 187 brush, $42 or Sigma Beauty’s F50 brush, $20; MAC Strobe Cream, $15, NARS Illuminator or Smashbox’s Artificial Light, $30 and $26 at Sephora. Orange really is the new black. We’ve seen orange as a prominent fixture on the runways for the past few years, and it seems to be ever growing in popularity. If you don’t have any orange lipsticks in your makeup bag just yet, this is the year to give it a go! Orange, like black, is a versatile color that can work for absolutely anyone; darker skin tones can choose shades with more orangey hues, while lighter skin tones can opt for shades that veer more towards the peachy side. Shades of coral are universally flattering.
Try: MAC’s So Chaud, Morange, $16; Revlon Colorbust in Peach or Coral, $5; L’Oreal Color Riche in Neonic Orange or Sparkling Coral, $8; Lime Crime’s My Beautiful Rocket, $18; Motives Mineral Lipstick in Tangerine, $18.
Eighties babies rejoice! 2014 is throwing it back with bright blue eyeshadow and a statement eye. Rock it like they did on the runway at Marc by Marc Jacobs with a wash of blue color all over the lid or tone it down by using a swipe of blue eyeliner on a bare eye. If you do opt for a bold eye, keep the rest of your makeup light.
Try: NYX Atlantic, about $4; Ben Nye Cosmic Blue, $3; Make Up For Ever #159, $19.
