Tomorrow may be a day away but it won’t bring us any closer to an Annie musical starring Willow Smith. The 13-year-old pop star/ heir to Will and Jada Pinkett Smith’s throne recently splashed the pages of V magazine and revealed why she turned down the role for the remake (set to hit theaters on Christmas this year), which is produced by her dad and Jay Z.

“I just wanted to chill, and be at home, and decompress, and just find out what I wanna do and where I stand on this planet, with the little tiny place we have…I just feel like I want to do it different than the world’s ready for. I’m enjoying just being independent and doing my own thing,” says Willow, according to excerpts obtained by E! News.

When the pint-sized firecracker’s not turning down roles, recording new tunes or whipping her hair back and forth, you can find the young fashionista in front of the camera. Check out more flicks from her latest shoot with famed French photographer Karl Lagerfeld here.
