Before a shot could go up at his first game in Madison Square Garden, Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard was admittedly awe struck, last season. The lights, the celebrities, being in the Mecca; all of it made Oakland’s new favorite son realize he’d made it a long way from The Bay. This was the big time.

The reigning NBA Rookie of the Year still gets goosebumps dribbling up and down the hardwood at MSG. That’s not to say he lets nerves get in the way of performing. You don’t average 20.7 points, 5.6 assists and 3.7 rebounds a game if you can’t control your nerves. And you certainly don’t hit back-to-back buzzer beaters to win games in one season if you’re never not chillin, either.
