Lauryn Williams Makes Olympic History

Bobsleigh - Winter Olympics Day 12

Lauryn Williams makes Olympic history by becoming the fifth person to earn a medal in both the summer and winter Olympics. In 2012, the Olympian won gold for the USA team relays and yesterday, the track-star received her first Winter Olympics medal for the USA bobsled team. Williams and her partner Elana Myer were just shy of a gold medal by .10 of a second, earning the silver medal instead.

Despite the negative critiques of Lauryn and Elana’s “mediocre” win, she’s definitely an inspiration to young girls of color, proving that there are no limits to your accomplishments.
