Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard Land Lead Roles in TV Pilot

Taraji P Henson

Remember the on-screen Hustle and Flow chemistry between Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard? Well The Butler duo Lee Daniels and Danny Strong plan to recreate that with new FOX Drama, Empire.

After leaving Person of Interest, Taraji nabbed the lead role alongside another The Butler alum Terrence Howard in this hip-hop based drama series. The story follows Henson’s character, Cookie Lyon, the ex-wife to CEO of Empire Entertainment, Lucious Lyon—Terrence Howard. After being released from a 17-year prison sentence on good behavior, she’s after what’s hers.

Henson’s character is described as a total badass and Howard’s is a tough and wise superstar over his empire. These traits open the budding exes to an interesting rivalry being that Lucious will do anything to keep what’s his and Cookie won’t back down until she get what she feels is hers. Adding fuel to the already lit fire, she’s also the sole supporter of her son’s career and homosexuality, something her ex is at odds about.

There’s no word on when this pilot will air, but Vixens, are you ready to see this hip hop family drama come into fruition?
