Rick Ross Knocks Pharrell From Top Spot On Billboard Charts

Pharrell’s reign at no. 1 is no more. Rick Ross’ sixth studio effort, Mastermind, has knocked the happy beatsmith’s G I R L LP from the top spot, Billboard reports.

Mastermind debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 charts, selling over 179,000 copies in its first week of release ending March 9th, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Though Pharrell’s second solo album skated to number two, he mentioned in a previous interview that there were no hard feelings toward the Bawse for syncing up their release dates.

“I’m happy to be on the same day as him,” Pharrell told Angie Martinez. “I love what he does. And although music is changing, it’s awesome to see him reinvent himself.”

The applause keeps coming for Rawse as he now joins the likes of DMX and late rapping legend Tupac for having five albums place at no. 1 its first week out.
