2 Chainz Releases ‘Freebase’ EP Tracklisting

Press Release: ATLANTA, GA, April 15, 2014 - Platinum selling, Grammy® nominated recording artist 2 Chainz today announces that he will release a special, fan oriented EP entitled Freebase on May 5th. Consisting of five brand new, original tracks, the EP will be a return to the hardcore, streetflavored rap that made 2 Chainz one of the most beloved figures in all of hip hop.

“It has been a minute since the release of my album B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Timeand I wanted to give something special to my fans while I record my follow up album,” says 2 Chainz. “This is a taste of what is to come, and is most importantly, for them,” he adds.

Although keeping many details on the project close, 2 Chainz created a special trailer for Freebase, which fans can view online here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DESKi4XPmLY

Additionally, as the EP is fan oriented, 2 Chainz tapped his talented fan base for the album artwork. Utilizing his devout social media following, 2 Chainz encouraged fans to submit their suggested artwork for the Freebase cover via Instagram, with the #freebase hashtag. Wading through over 10,000+ applicants, 2 Chainz and his team narrowed it down to four before making their final choice. The winning design features a rare photo of famous stand-up comedian and actor Richard Pryor reclining on a bed, wearing two chain necklaces.

Freebase serves as the first musical release from 2 Chainz for 2014. However, that’s not to say he hasn’t been busy, as the first quarter of the year saw 2 Chainz garner a Grammy-Nomination in the Best Rap Song Category for his work on the single “F***ing Problems”. 2 Chainz also had memorable performances at the NFL’s ProBowl as well as a headlining performance for his own official SXSW showcase that garnered strong reviews from Entertainment Weekly and Yahoo amongst other media outlets.

The EP also comes on the heels of the close of his “2 Good To Be T.R.U. Tour” which crisscrossed the nation. The 21-city tour, which concluded at the 9:30 Club in Washington D.C. at the end of March, hit major markets across the US including New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle and Miami and featured special appearances from a Who’s Who of hip hop including but not limited to Pusha-T, French Montana and A$AP Rocky.
