Drake To Be Sued For 300K Because of ‘Pound Cake’

Drake’s “Pound Cake” song intro is being investigated to determine if the Grammy-winning artist was given permission to use the original jazz instrumentals. Apparently, Drizzy lied when he said that he was granted permission to sample the song and is receiving backfire for his actions.

TMZ reports that the new lawsuit shows that not only was Drake not permitted to use the music, he never bothered to ask. Deceased jazz musician Jimmy Smith’s estate—which still owns the rights to his music—is going after whoever is responsible including Drake and Cash Money Records. The lawsuit is reported to be for more than 300K.
