Columbus Short may be getting too intertwined with his Scandal character as he allegedly threatened murder-suicide against his wife. On April 7, Short and his wife Tuere Short got into a heated argument that turned nearly deadly and resulted in a restraining order.

According to TMZ, Columbus came towards Tuere with a bottle of wine pretending to hit her before pouring the wine all over her. He then grabbed a knife, pinned her on the couch while choking her and forcing her to play “Truth or Truth,” calling out a slew of men he believed she cheated on him with. She of course denied cheating and he allegedly put the knife to her throat where he menaced to kill her and then himself. Lastly, court documents claim he slashed her tires when she tried to vacate their home.

As a result of the restraining order, Columbus was forced to move out of their home under police supervision yesterday (Apr. 16). The day before the move, Tuere filed for divorce citing “irreconcilable differences” and is seeking full custody of their daughter.
