Black Excellence: Cornell Brooks Appointed As NAACP President

Activist Cornell Brooks is the new president and CEO of the NAACP, according to The Root. Brooks, who was appointed to his new position on Saturday, is the NAACP’s 18th national president. The New Jersey native expressed his gratitude and enthusiasm in an interview with the Associated Press. “I am deeply humbled and honored to be entrusted with the opportunity to lead this powerful historic organization,” he said.

“In our fight to ensure voting rights, economic equality, health equity, and ending racial discrimination for all people, there is indeed much work to be done.” There’s nothing quite like an educated black man. Go Brooks!
