Janelle Monae Cancels Australian Tour Dates
Janelle Monae has a mystery illness that will be keeping her from fulfilling her five-city Australian tour, Billboard reports. In a statement released on Tuesday (May 20), management claims that, “Due to Janelle Monáe’s continuing illness it has been confirmed that the remainder of ‘The Golden Electric Tour’ has been cancelled and there will be no rescheduled performances.”
Her upcoming tour dates, which she was supposed to co-headline with Aussie songstress Kimbra, in Brisbane, Melbourne, New Zealand and Auckland have all been cancelled. Tour promoter, Live Nation Australasia, will be releasing a complete statement regarding refunds today (May 20).
The Electric Lady is slated to return to the states May 31st for The Roots Picnic in Philadelphia. It is not clear whether those dates will be affected.
