L.A.’s current musical uprising is exposing their hidden treasures. That includes Terrace Martin, a rapper, singer, producer and all around musician. Since 2008, he’s worked with the likes of Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Wiz Khalifa, Kurupt, Dr. Dre, Quincy Jones and even Stevie Wonder.

Since age 9, the Left Coast rep has been studying music and has mastered how to combine jazz, R&B and hip-hop with a taste of G-Funk. The saxophonist is no newbie; he’s released 12 projects to date, including the remixed version of his latest album, 3 Chord Fold Pulse. Listen to these 10 tracks that Martin has either appeared on or produced to see why he’s part of the West Coast’s music elite.

1. “L.O.V.E,” feat. Ty Dolla Sign

Do you believe in love at first sight? Ty Dolla $ign and Terrace do (well, on this song anyway). They’re both unsure whether they’re truly feeling love in the air or if the libations are getting the best of them.

2. “You’re the One”

This is a mid-tempo groove about how Terrace wants to take his time and not rush things, over a smooth, jazzy instrumental.

3. “Give Me Some of You,” feat. Kendrick Lamar (Here, My Dear) (produced by Terrace Martin)

Terrace shows off his production skills on this “Hear, My Dear” track, accenting the beat with his horns and heavy bass. Meanwhile, K. Dot is clearly still in the honeymoon stage of his relationship. On part two to this track for the boo-lovers, guest starring and produced by Terrace, Kendrick vents as his sweet romance turns to turmoil.

4. Hello feat. J Mack, Tone Trezure , DJ Quik, Kurupt (prod. by Terrace Martin)

Martin lets his stellar collaborators bring his production to life as they sing about getting groupie love from way beyond state lines.

5. “Show Her the Way,” feat. Dom Kennedy, Lady G Da Real Deal, Kurupt

Over a beat that combines G-Funk and R&B, Terrace and friends get playful and put a twist on how they plan to get their pursuant into bed.
