Friday Rewind: Top 10 Dance Music Releases Of The Week
Kick off the weekend with these top 10 dance music releases from the past week, curated by DJ, producer and vocalist Lea Luna.
1. Max Elto- “Shadow Of The Sun” (Adventure Club remix)
This free download is very moving, thanks in part to Max Elto’s gorgeous vocals, and the buzzy bass on the remix by Canadian dubstep heroes Adventure Club, who lifts up the “Cloud 9” feeling of it quite nicely.
2. Eddie Thoneick & Abel Ramos Feat. James Walsh- “Love Will Never Let You Down”
Out this week on Size Records, “Love Will Never Let You Down,” features vocals by James Walsh that will warm your heart and thumping beats by Eddie Thoneick and Abel Ramos that will get your pulse racing.
3. Coldplay- “A Sky Full Of Stars” (Hardwell Remix)
Coldplay’s summer hit “A Sky Full Of Stars” sets the perfect tone for summer festivals. Hardwell has crafted a remix to crank it up a notch and get those hands in the air reaching clear into the cosmos. You can get a sneak preview of it right here, almost two weeks in advance of it’s release.
4. Example- “One More Day (Stay With Me)”
Known for his unmatched lyrical flow, Example has taken a new direction with this one. “One More Day” is a cheerful tune that he fully sings on, with a little bit of old school flavor showing through with the beat and keys. The video is delightful, with shots full of fun-loving good times, which pair perfectly with the vibe of the music.
5. Yeah Boy- ‘Can’t Get Enough’ EP
Pour yourself a drink and kick up your feet before you put on the ‘Can’t Get Enough’ EP. Yeah Boy accomplished the ultimate sexy-time feeling with the whole release, which is a journey from down-tempo to house to a disco/funk element and back.
6. Steve Aoki feat. Machine Gun Kelly- “Free The Madness”
Steve Aoki is having as much fun with his videos as he does on stage with his famous antics. This time, he’s taken up a theme that was clearly inspired by the TV series “Breaking Bad” that starts off with a futuristic intro and ends up with girl scouts wielding nun-chucks against him and his featured emcee, Machine Gun Kelly.
7. Overwerk- “Exist”
“Exist” is a sonic masterpiece. Overwerk has the rare ability to blend sick electro with string arrangements and soundscapes that are fit to score an epic movie, making this hit both emotionally cinematic and extremely dance-inducing in one.
8. Nause- “Head Over Heels” (Franskild remix)
Garage-esque keys and beats, smooth synths, sweet vocal edits, and deep bass mingle together perfectly to create a mesmerizing deep house mood on this remix of Nause- “Head Over Heels” by Swedish house duo Franskild. This is good enough to just leave on replay.
9. Yolanda Be Cool- “Cause I Like It”
“Cause I Like It” has a great Chicago house touch to the vocal. The classic sounding beat drops into a filthy techno garage bass that is so good it will get everyone in the club up off the wall. Yolanda Be Cool really produces a great mix of styles in the house music domain that are hot right now and always have been.
10. Blinders- “Rifter”
Here’s a progressive scorcher full of incredible melody and elevating sounds. “Rifter” is definitely made for high-energy crowds with positive vibes surrounding a glittering main stage.
