Lana Del Rey Has ‘Slept With A Lot Of Guys In The Industry’

Lana Del Rey is always one to make a big stir with few words. She recently spoke with Complex magazine about her new album, Ultraviolence, artistic inspiration, guilty pleasures and criticism.

What’s guaranteed to snag fans’ undivided attention is what Del Rey has to say about relationships and men. When speaking on her controversial track, “F-cked My Way Up to The Top,” Del Rey says, “It’s commentary, like, ‘I know what you think of me,’ and I’m alluding to that. You know, I have slept with a lot of guys in the industry, but none of them helped me get my record deals. Which is annoying.”

Unfortunately, Del Rey is being extremely vague. What is she annoyed about specifically? Is she irritated that these men (and we would love to know who) didn’t help her get a record deal in exchange for her “company”? Is she upset that there are rumors of sex based on the way she broke into and gained success in the industry (though they aren’t true)?

Adding to the sexual intensity of the interview, she tries her best to explain her views on the relationship between violence and love. “I like a physical love. I like a hands-on love,” she said. “How can I say this without getting into too much trouble? I like a tangible, passionate love. For me, if it isn’t physical, I’m not interested.”

The 29-year-old singer is full of controversial comments. While being interviewed by The Guardian, Del Rey said “I wish I were dead already.” The New York Times quoted her a few days later saying she was “scared to die, but I want to die.” Del Rey soon after expressed her regret, tweeting that The Guardian’s reporter’s “leading questions about death and persona were calculated” and his ambitions, “sinister.”
