20 Twitter Reactions to Meek Mill’s Arrest

Meek Mill

Meek Mill’s dreams turned into a nightmare over the weekend when he was ordered by a Philadelphia judge to spend three to six months in the slammer, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Meek, born Robert Williams, allegedly violated his probation stemming from a 2009 gun and drug charge by not getting permission to book shows outside of Philly, not providing his probation officer with his new phone number, posted nasty remarks about his prosecutor and probation officer on Twitter and posing with a gun on Instagram.

“It took me 15 years to get here, and this will be extremely damaging to my life,” the 27-year-old said as he pleaded, but the judge showed no mercy. Since his sentencing, MMG captain Rick Ross has issued a statement saying he will support him during this unfortunate situation.

“I created MMG years ago, my desire was to create a space where the most talented artists in the world could be nurtured and supported. With that came a commitment. I vowed to support these artists, through the good and the bad. Every individual signed to MMG is not just an artist, they are my family. And with family you ride, or you die. Yesterday, my brother, Meek Mill ran into some unfortunate legal issues. It happens. However, his team, our team, will continue to execute Meek’s plan as close to schedule as possible.”

Rozay also promised that Meek’s sophomore effort, Dreams Worth More Than Money, would still be released on Sept. 9 despite this legal hold up.

Mill was arrested a week before what he called his “Homecoming Tour,” where he was going to host at Temple University to “play in front of his hometown at the height of his career.” His arrest was a shock to many. Flip to see how people reacted via Twitter.
