Indiana Pacers’ Paul George Suffers Dreadful Leg Injury

Things aren’t looking too good for NBA player Paul George. The Indiana Pacers’ small forward suffered a serious leg injury Friday (Aug. 1), during a Team USA showcase at UNLV’s Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nev. While trying to block the Houston Rockets’ James Harden, George landed awkwardly on his right leg. The 6’9 All-Star was later carried on a stretcher off the court, leading U.S. coach Mike Krzyzewski to cancel the remainder of the scrimmage out of respect for George and his family.

Pacers President Larry Bird also released a statement on the incident saying, ”We are aware of the injury sustained by Paul George in Friday night’s Team USA game in Las Vegas and we are obviously greatly concerned. At this time our thoughts and prayers are with Paul. We are still gathering details and will have an updated statement Saturday.” George was aiming to be a finalist to make the Team USA roster for the World Cup, ESPN reports.
