John Legend Performs Marvin Gaye's 'Inner City Blues' During Hollywood Bowl
While wearing a white blazer and black T-shirt with the words "Don't Shoot," Grammy-award winning singer-songwriter John Legend performed at The Hollywood Bowl to honor Marvin Gaye, while still bringing about awareness to the unrest taking place in Ferguson, Missouri. Legend sang the Motown singer's 1971 hit "Inner City Blues" (Make Me Wanna Holler) which 43 years after its release, still holds true today. Backed by Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, Legend was on hand to recreate Gaye's landmark album What's Going On Legend sang the nine songs from the classic album and as Billboard reports, showcased extreme emotion while singing the title track as well as Save The Children. John Legend is never the one to bite his tongue. Earlier, the Love In The Future entertainer weighed in on the shooting death of Mike Brown and was confronted by IBNN News about his tweets.
