Kanye West Reveals Father Was Once A Paparazzo During Deposition
If there's one thing Kanye West does not like, it's the paparazzi, so it comes as a surprise to learn the Grammy-award winning entertainer is the heir to one of them.
The Daily Mail reports during a deposition in a civil lawsuit brought by celebrity photographer Daniel Ramos, West reveals his father at one point took celebrity photos for a living.
"My father was a paparazzo himself. My father was a medical illustrator, a Black Panther, a Christian marriage counselor,' West told Ramos' lawyer during his deposition," the 37-year-old rapper said to Ramos' lawyer." My mother was the first black chair of the English department in Chicago State. They didn't raise me to be out here wrestling with random paparazzi in front of LAX,."
You may recall, West and Ramos got into a scuffle outside of Los Angeles International Airport. Photos of the altercation began to surface on the Internet last year.
West's says the altercation occurred when he learned his grandfather, Portwood Williams Senior was growing ill and dying. It was at that time West claims Ramos began to antagonize him while leaving the airport. While Wests admits to trying to take Ramos' camera he insists he never hit him or tried to hurt him.
West pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor battery charge related to the incident. He was sentenced to two year probation, 24 anger management therapy sessions and 250 of community service.
