Video Showcases Shooting Death Of St. Louis Man Kajieme Powell


In an effort to try and remain transparent, St. Louis police released video of the shooting death of 25-year-old Kajieme Powell, Wednesday evening Powell, who was known in the neighborhood as mentally disturbed, was shot multiple times by two police officers Tuesday afternoon. According to a recording, a convenience store owner called 911 after suspecting Powell of stealing two sodas and doughnuts. Another woman reported Powell was acting erratically and had a knife. In the six minute video, viewers can see officers pulling up in their car and hear Powell screaming at the officers. “Shoot me! Shoot me!” However, footage shows Powell’s arms at his side and while he does walk towards the officers, he does not get within three or four feet before hit with a barrage of bullets. Powell, was killed just miles from where 18-year-old Mike Brown was fatally shot by Officer Darren Wilson on Aug.9. To watch the video footage, CLICK HERE
