Interview: Jhené Aiko Talks Sports Baes, Her Next Album And More
Don’t look now, but Jhené Aiko’s on the verge of soaring into another level of stardom. R&B’s queen of the lyrical cosmos emotes through her music on a level that draws in both the dudes and the chicks. Enough that devout fans of both sexes eagerly waited on line recently for nearly seven hours to share an intimate moment with Namiko’s mommy.
To celebrate the launch of Samsung’s Galaxy Alpha, Aiko came through to the Samsung Studio in SoHo (NYC). The lucky aforementioned fans packed the place to hear her 30 minute acoustic set that included some joints off the new album like “To Love & Die”, “Lyin King” and “The Pressure”. But before she gave the audience “The Worst,” Aiko touched with us on topics like the which song on Souled Out was the hardest to record, what celebrity she stan’s for, themes for the next album and played Jhene’s Bae’s, picking a few athletes who could be bae if she was single (sorry guys, she’s not). — @LowerEastScribe
