Man Scorned: 10 Songs From Bitter Males
Women wear their hearts on their sleeves but bitter males subliminally write about it.
There’s nothing worse than a woman scorned, but what about a man who can make a hit song and let the world know how you wronged him? Last week, Big Sean proved once again that guys can be salty too when he released "I Don't Fuck With You," a scathing song presumably dedicated to his ex Naya Rivera. From hip-hop to R&B, here are 10 examples of when keeping it sorta wrong will get your feelings hurt. Not even an Iyanla affirmation can cure all this hurt.
Cee-Lo - “Fuck You”
Although Cee-Lo stated that this song was aimed at the music industry, at first listen it doesn’t sound that way. It sounds like the woman of his dreams left him for a man with heavier pockets. The “F” bomb was dropped 17 times during this song, just in case you had questions about how he felt. Although in the song he mentions that there are some things he should’ve made up for, that still doesn’t excuse her trifling behavior.
Method Man, D’Angelo - “Break Ups 2 Make Ups”
This late '90s jam featured an unlikely collaboration between Method Man and D’Angelo and feels more like a letter that was never supposed to see the light of day. With lyrics like “It's always you and your crusty ass crew, be acting new/Let me find out that you fucking with Boo, and y'all gon' feel it.” Shots Fired.
Nas - “Bye, Baby’
Leave it to an introspective rapper to rap about something introspective. Although Nas’ relationship with Kelis failed (and was dragged in public), "Bye Baby" places most of the blame on her. “Hate you so much right now, should’ve saw the meaning, angry black woman/Actions of a demon, I’m leaving” lets us know that Nas will not go out like a simp, even if you take him to the courthouse.
Usher - “Papers”
This song is about serving divorce papers to someone you’ll be paying child support to for the next 18 years. And for that reason alone, it'll make anyone feel scornful, even if you have more than enough money to do it. The song has a nice bounce to it, which makes you feel petty for jamming to it.
