White House Intruder Equipped With More Than 800 Rounds Of Ammunition
A White House intruder with more than 800 rounds of ammunition managed to get to the front door, but was stopped by authorities on Friday (Sept. 19).
According to the Washington Post, Texas native Omar Jose Gonzalez was also arrested back in July by Virginia State Police after authorities realized the 47 year old had several weapons and a map of the White House on his person.
Federal prosecutors said ammunition, two hatchets and a machete were found in his vehicle during a search. Prosecutors made their case known to a judge and asked that Gonzalez be kept in jail as he poses a dangerous threat to President Obama. The judge agreed and ordered Gonzalez to remain in custody until his hearing next month.
