Amanda Bynes Placed Under Involuntary Psychiatric Hold
Troubled actress Amanda Bynes has been placed under an involuntary psychiatric hold, commonly referred to as a 5150.
The hold—which lasts for 72 hours but can be extended for as long as two weeks—comes just one week after the star was caught allegedly stealing a $200 hat from Barneys.

Bynes, 28, also Tweeted, then later deleted, comments from her account accusing her father of sexually, physically and verbally assaulting her. She later blamed the incident on a “microchip in her brain.”
It’s reported Bynes was hospitalized shortly after landing at LAX airport. Bynes believed a car service would meet her at the airport and take her to The London Hotel where she would meet her parents and lawyer. Her parents instead arranged for her to be taken to Pasadena, California where she would receive help.
This isn’t the first time Bynes was placed on a 5150 hold. In 2013, she was placed under an involuntary psychiatric hold after allegedly setting a fire in a elderly woman’s driveway.
