August Alsina Cancels London Show On Doctor’s Orders

August Alsina may be out of the hospital, but the singer is still recovering from his health scare last month. After collapsing off stage during his Sept. 15 show at NYC’s Irving Plaza, Alsin landed in a three-day coma. He was released from the hospital the following week, but has yet to be cleared for international flights by his doctors. Scheduled to appear with Kevin Hart at London’s Brooklyn Bowl for the comedian’s HartBeat Weekend, Alsina announced via Twitter that he would not be able to make his performance:

“Due to the well-publicized fall from a stage in New York last month which caused August to be hospitalized for more than a week, his medical team has advised him that it would be unwise to travel such distance so soon into his recovery,” a statement for Alsina read, according to Billboard. “August has asked us to convey his disappointment and sadness that he will be unable to perform. We all wish him the very best of luck and a speedy recovery.” Kevin Hart also took to Twitter in support of Alsina’s decision. “We are saddened by this unexpected news, but we must also take responsibility and adhere to what August’s medical team advise, no matter how disappointing this news is,” he said in a statement.

Alsina had also cancelled appearances in Dubai and Abu Dhabi since his release from the hospital. He is set to open for Usher’s “UR Experience” tour beginning Nov. 1. Here’s to a speedy recovery for the singer.
