It’s A Bird, It’s A Plane, It’s Chadwick Boseman As Marvel’s New Black Panther

We see you, Chad!

Marvel Comics has announced what has been speculated for quite sometime, “Get On Up” actor Chadwick Boseman will play superhero Black Panther, which will make Boseman the first African-American to lead a stand alone tentpole Marvel film.

President of Marvel Entertainment, Kevin Feige announced the film would hit theater November 3, 2017 and while other actors auditioned for the role (Michael Jai White was a strong contender) Boseman won the coveted prize and inked himself a five-movie deal in the process (sweet!) Boseman will make his first appearance alongside Chris Evan who plays Captain America in the 2016 film Captain America: Civil War

Created by Stan Lee in the 1950s, Black Panther was the first African-American superhero to be portrayed in mainstream comic books. Also known as T’Challa, Black Panther is the king of King of Wakanda and a brilliant scientist with heightened senses and physical abilities.

Congrats to Mr. Boseman. Well deserved.
