Kanye West Can Afford To Turn Down A $4.5M Las Vegas Residency
It ain’t nothin’ to cut that Vegas residency off – if you’re Kanye West.
Yeezy reportedly turned down a whopping $4.5 million offer for a nine-show gig at The Axis at Planet Hollywood. According to a report from TMZ, the deal would have made West the highest paid entertainer on the coveted Las Vegas Strip.
The offer would have scheduled West to perform three shows per week for a three-week span, totaling $500K a show, earning him more than Celine Dion, Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez. Dion currently holds the crown at $476K a show, with Spears and Lopez trailing at $475K and $350K respectively. Lopez was the latest star to make headlines with a Vegas residency, signing on for 72 shows at The Axis.
Back in 2012, West earned $600K per show with Jay Z on their Watch The Throne tour according to Forbes. He also reportedly doubled his yearly earnings in 2014, earning him a spot on the magazine’s Hip-Hop Cash Kings list. So there’s that.
