Kesha Sues Producer Dr. Luke For Sexual Assault, He Sues Her Back
Kesha is suing her longtime producer Dr. Luke, claiming that he has been sexually, physically and verbally abusive to the singer since signing her at 18 years old. Detailing instances in which he allegedly forced her to take drugs and have sex with him, Kesha also points to Dr. Luke as the reason for her recent rehab stint and eating disorder.
In the suit, obtained by TMZ, Kesha describes one occurrence of being forced to drink alcohol and take what he called “sober pills.” She claims she woke up the following day naked, sore and sick in Dr. Luke’s bed. The singer’s suit also includes a description of physical abuse in which the producer allegedly attacked her in his Malibu home, leading to her running down the Pacific Coast Highway barefoot. Kesha also quotes verbal abuse from the producer.
“You are not that pretty, you are not that talented, you are just lucky to have me,” he reportedly said.
“This lawsuit is a wholehearted effort by Kesha to regain control of her music career and her personal freedom after suffering for 10 years as a victim of mental manipulation, emotional abuse and an instance of sexual assault at the hands of Dr. Luke,” Kesha’s atorney Mark Geragos told TMZ. “The facts presented in our lawsuit paint a picture of a man who is controlling and willing to commit horrible acts of abuse in an attempt to intimidate an impressionable, talented, young female artist into submission for his personal gain. Kesha is focused on moving her life and her career beyond this terrible time.”
Now, Dr. Luke has filed a countersuit against Kesha. Accusing the singer of extortion for release from their contract, the producer claims that he had a copy of the suit she filed for months. He also blames Kesha’s mother, Pebe Sebert, for the allegations, which he says are false.
