Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ To Be Released In 3D
Headed up by the original director of “Thriller” John Landis, the upcoming project has survived a lengthy legal battle between Landis and the Jackson estate that began before Jackson’s passing in 2009.
“That lawsuit went on for so many years, (but) we settled and they paid me finally,” Landis said told the NY Daily News. “And so, actually there is something happening with ‘Thriller.’ ”
While the details of where and how the release will happen was not divulged, Landis hinted at it hitting the “big screen.” Another source also alluded to cinematic and Blu-ray releases.
“It is going to reappear in a highly polished and three-dimensional way that is very exciting on the big screen,” Landis said.
“Thriller” may also become the subject of a slew of other projects. The paper’s unnamed source also mentioned further ideas being tossed around by the Jackson estate.
“The estate has been looking at gaming ideas, too, and “Thriller” fits into the genre,” the source said. “It could a be a dance experience or a zombie-style,shoot-’ em-up-style movie. There are so many possibilities with this creative masterpiece.”
