Naomi Campbell To Combat Ebola From The Catwalk

Naomi Campbell plans to put her best stiletto forward in the fight to raise awareness about the deadly Ebola virus. While the disease has been running rampant through some West African countries for a while, it took the first American victim (Thomas Eric Duncan died 8 days after his diagnosis) to get the masses to truly pay attention. Since the outbreak touched down on American soil, the nation has been taking greater strides in their prevention procedures, but there is still much to be done.

According to Page Six, the supermodel is planning a Fashion For Relief show during February’s New York and London Fashion Weeks to raise awareness about the spread of Ebola. Although she is a native Londoner, Naomi has a home in Kenya and travels worldwide frequently. She isn’t shy about admitting that she is not only scared of the disease’s reach, but that “people don’t have a clear idea about what Ebola is.”

In the past, Naomi has orchestrated Fashion For Relief shows to benefit relief efforts in Haiti and Japan.
