How T-Pain Makes Acoustic Version Of ‘Up Down’ Sound Romantic, We May Never Know

T-Pain was the latest artist to perform for NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series and showed off his vocal skills, sans the auto-tune.

While performing songs from his catalogue, which included “Up Down (Do This All Day)” “Buy You A Drank (Shawty Snappin)” and “Drankin Patna” Pain, who was visibly nervous and cracked jokes for the audience to ease his own tensions, proved he could hold a note or two without his trusty auto-tune.

By no mean does T-Pain hit any Luke James or Luther Vandross notes, but his voice is a pleasant surprise.
