Was Akon Accused Of Crowd-Surfing In A Bubble To Avoid Contracting Ebola?

That speculation is completely false.

During a headlining performance at the International Day of Peace in Goma, a city in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, Akon crowd-surfed in a bubble over an attendance of 60,000 people, and then the Internet took hold of what they thought was the “Oh Africa” singer protecting himself from contracting the Ebola virus.

According to Noisey, the 41-year-old artist didn’t perform this stunt as a means to protect himself from the disease, and it’s been reported that Akon has crowd-surfed in this transparent contraption at a number of his concerts from Australia to Dubai.
