This Woman Thought It Was Wise To Scold Sasha And Malia Obama
Sasha and Malia Obama made holiday headlines this week when they were captured being a little less-than-interested in the President’s “turkey pardoning” speech. Dropping off some pretty glorious side-eyes at their dad, the girls stole the spotlight from Mac and Cheese, the turkeys whose lives were saved. And while a bit of fun was poked at the lighthearted ordeal, one person was not entertained. Elizabeth Lauten, communication director for U.S. Rep. Stephen Fincher, took to her Facebook page to scold Sasha and Malia, telling them to “try showing a little class:” Of course, her statements were not well-received on Twitter. Catching all sorts of backlash, Lauten was met with tweets from the masses about her bad timing and judgement:

This chick picked the wrong day to go after the First Kids. All these Black people sitting at home bored and not shopping??

Basically, @DCGopGirl picked the wrong week to come for the First Daughters. WE WILL NOT HAVE THAT SHIT. Well, any week is the wrong week.

And just nine hours after her public scolding, Lauten released an apology on Facebook, which she says was written “after many hours of prayer, talking to my parents and re-reading my words online:” Since her apology, Lauten has removed her work information from her Facebook page and made her profile private. Sounds like she has a tough week ahead.
