Lil’ Twist Reportedly Beat Up A Former Nickelodeon Star... And Took His Pants Off

Young Money rapper and Justin Bieber’s BFF Lil’ Twist is allegedly a suspect in the beating – and pantsing – of former Nickelodeon star Chris Massey on Friday afternoon (Nov. 7).

According to TMZ, Twist and a group of friends were at Massey’s older brother’s apartment in Los Angeles when an argument occurred. The site reports that Twist, along with others, beat Massey up, and then “after pounding him, one source says Twist and his buds doled out some humiliation by pulling Chris' pants off.”

Last month, Twist took to Twitter to vent about his grievances with his management team over unreleased music. Similar to claims made by Tyga just days later, it seemed both Young Money artists are having difficulty dropping records under Lil’ Wayne’s imprint. Twist was also arrested for a DUI last year.

Massey was reportedly taken to a hospital for treatment, and authorities will investigate the situation.

UPDATE: The Massey family has released a statement regarding the incident:

We want everyone to know that Christopher is fine and he was defending himself after Twist and four unknown suspects broke into Kyle & Christopher’s penthouse and robbed and assaulted him. Christopher is doing well and did get medical attention as reported, but has no physical concerns especially with the severity of the altercation. The police are still looking for the four accomplices. We plan to legally pursue this to the full extent of the law.

Finally, we would like to thank the police who did an amazing job responding to the incident.

Respectfully

The Massey family

Barry Jenkins Is Directing A Sequel To ‘The Lion King’

A sequel to The Lion King is in the works at Disney, with Barry Jenkins attached to direct. The film, which will be a follow-up to the 2019 live-action blockbuster release, is in the early stages of development.

According to Deadline, the plot will expand on the stories of character featured in its predecessor including the origin story for Mufasa, whose death marks a turning point in Young Simba’s journey to become king. The film sequel is expected to utilize the same photo-realistic technology as its predecessor.

It’s unclear when the film will be released or if Donald Glover, Chiwetel Ejiofor, John Oliver, James Earl Jones, Beyonce, Alfre Woodard, and more stars from last year’s Lion King will be reprising their voiceover roles for the follow-up project.

Jenkins brings a unique viewpoint to storytelling that resonates with audiences and helped earn him two Oscars, one of which was a Best Picture win for Moonlight. The 41-year-old Miami native and Florida State University Graduate, also won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay for If Beale Street Could Talk.

Besides the Lion King sequel, Jenkins is directing a biopic on dance legend Alvin Ailey, and wrapped filming on the series, The Underground Railroad.

Mural Honoring Chadwick Boseman Unveiled At Disneyland

A new mural honoring Chadwick Boseman made its debut at Disneyland’s Downtown Disney on Thursday (Sept 24). The beautiful art work was painted by Nikkolas Smith, a former Disneyland Imagineer.

The art installation includes an inscription from Smith that reads: “As a former Disney Imagineer, I had the honor of working on a major children's hospital initiative and Avengers Campus as my final two assignments. Seeing Chadwick's heart for people in-person, and later discovering his courageous battle with cancer, I was inspired to create this tribute to honor his life and legacy. To us, he was and will always be T'Challa. Long Live The King.”

The image shows Boseman kneeling alongside a child in a hospital gown while both make the Wakanda salute. The photo is a nod to Boseman’s many hospital visits with sick children, all while he secretly battled colon cancer. The 43-year-old actor passed away from the disease in August.

The piece, which will be on display until the end of the year, was Smith's final project as a Disney Imagineer, a job that he held for 11 years.

“This one is special,” he explained in an Instagram post. “My King Chad tribute is now on a wall on display at Downtown Disney. It is a full circle moment for me: my final two projects as a Disney Imagineer last summer were working on the Children’s Hospital project and the ‘Avengers’ Campus. To millions of kids, T'Challa was a legend larger than life, and there was no one more worthy to fill those shoes than Chadwick Boseman. I'm so thankful to be able to honor Chadwick's life and purpose in this way.” Smith added a note of gratitude to Disney for being supporting of his artistic journey.
