Mike Brown’s Mother's Reaction To The Ferguson Decision Is Absolutely Heartbreaking
Last night (Nov. 25), Lesley McSpadden learned that the shooter of her 18-year-old son Mike Brown would not be charged in his killing. In a heartbreaking reaction to the grand jury’s decision not to indict Darren Wilson, she addressed a crowd of protesters in tears, questioning the officers self-defense claims.
“Everybody want me to be calm. Do you know how them bullets hit my son, what they did to his body as they entered his body?” she screamed.
Subsequently, officials made public the grand jury documents that detail how the decision was arrived to. Included was a 18-page testimony from Wilson, in which he detailed the events on Aug. 9. Excerpts from his side of the story include:
"There's a lot of gangs that reside or associate with that area. There's a lot of violence in that area, there's a lot of gun activity, drug activity, it is just not a very well-liked community. That community doesn't like the police."
"I felt that another of those punches in my face could knock me out or worse ... I've already taken two to the face and I didn't think I would, the third one could be fatal if he hit me right."

"As he is coming towards me, I tell, keep telling him to get on the ground, he doesn't. I shoot a series of shots. I don't know how many I shot, I just know I shot it. I know I missed a couple, I don't know how many, but I know I hit him at least once because I saw his body kind of jerk."
Bruises were the only recorded injuries from Wilson, for which a doctor advised him to take a pain reliever. Photos of the officer were taken after the altercation:
